Multiple Short Tests of the VW ID.3 Neo (2026) Published
At around 4.26 meters in length, the ID.3 Neo sits roughly in Golf-sized territory, competing in a segment where, for instance, the Kia EV4 is considered the "electric car for the Golf class." With the adjustments made, it is meant to address the model's previous weaknesses. According to the short tests, the technical updates include, among other things, three drivetrain variants with 50, 58, or 79 kWh batteries and outputs of 125, 140, or 170 kW respectively. For the tested version with the 79 kWh battery, a range of 574 to 627 km is stated, with consumption of 14.4 to 15.8 kWh and a maximum DC charging power of 183 kW. In addition, there are new software features such as the further-developed Connected Travel Assist with traffic light recognition, one-pedal driving down to a standstill, and a vehicle-to-load function of up to 3.6 kW. The sprint to 100 km/h takes 7.1 seconds, and the curb weight is 1,966 kilograms. Inside, there is a 12.9-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch instrument display, along with the return of real buttons and switches. The starting price for the variant with the 79 kWh battery is at least 44,995 euros.
